MLT Gateway Project Newsletter - Spring 2022

Project Newsletter Vol 1 : MLT Gateway - Spring 2022

PROJECT IN THE TIME OF COVID

When CAMLPR submitted the project idea to the Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) in 2020, they proposed a plan that anticipated the project execution to be done in a post-pandemic era. With no end to the pandemic on the horizon by 2021, CAMLPR moved forward in uncertain times to build a web portal with a online clinical skills assessment for Internationally-educated Medical Laboratory Technologists (IEMLT) as well as a review of the last Language Proficiency Benchmarks set in 2007. A comprehensive risk assessment plan allowed the project to pivot at a moment’s notice and adapt quickly to any unforeseen challenges. As we enter the second year of a 30 month project, we can proudly say that we are on schedule and on budget for the MLT Gateway Project as we anticipate another year of pivoting, challenges but most importantly: RESULTS.
